Dental Esthetic Opens in David in Plaza Mallorca
Jan 29th, 2007 by Don Ray

This morning I noticed a new Dental clinic. It is called Dental Esthetic and is located in Plaza Mallorca of the one way street that intersects with the Interamerican highway. If you got on the one way street close to the David Municipal building, you would go about 2 blocks.
I visited with Doctor Miriam Rodriguez to find out what all she did. She does dental esthetics, which is whitening of the teeth, periodontics, implants and orthodontia. For me I am interested in the whitening of my teeth. After years of Dr. Pepper and Coca-Cola my teeth have taken on a yellow color that I really don’t like.
After talking to Dr. Rodriguez, she told me that I should be able to accomplish a change of two color levels. As luck would have it, in February she is having a two for one special and two people can get their teeth whitened for $120. This is not one of those take it home kits, but you make an appointment and she does the treatment in her office. This is a good deal, since the normal price is $250 for one person. February isn’t far off and I think I will give myself a valentine present.
The office is new and it has a friendly waiting area.

You can see that all her equipment is new. This is a photo of Dr. Rodriguez standing beside her patient relaxation chair.

I enjoyed visiting with Dr. Rodriguez. She said her English was not very good, but between her English and my Spanish we did all right. She was a very pleasant person, and I am sure you would like her.
Here is a brochure I picked up. This will be another Spanish practice session for you. Oh, if you stop in, tell you learned about her on Chiriquí Chatter. You may email her at miriamperio@hotmail.com.

Does she do back massages too? Straight up no hanky panky, I need one, they cost way too much here in the states, In San Jose I found a really cute Tica charged me with tip $8.00. Thats the first thing I’m going to look for in Panama City.
Sorry SE. She only improves your smile dentally.
Hello Don,
Does Panama health care system has health care insurance that you can purchase by paying monthly like in the US for the whole family?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Don Ray,
Does Dental Estetic mean they do cosmetic dentistry? In particular porcelain caps? If not, do you know of an office in David that does? We have been searching on the internet, and have found nothing in that area, but a number of places in San Jose’.
We will be coming to Panama in November and would like to get some dental work done then.
Hi Shrader,
I don’t have the complete answer. Here is what I think I understood from talking to her assistant. Dr. Rodriguez primarily does periodontal work and some other general dentistry. However for some specialized needs, she has a dentist come in once a month from Panama City.
When I get a more complete answer back from the dentist, I will post it.
UPDATE: Dr. Rodriguez got back to me. She has an associate, that works with her in David, that does the porcelain cap work. This work is usually scheduled on Thursday mornings in Dr. Rodriguez office, but, with prior arrangement, it can be done at other times. The price for each cap is $300.
Hi Don Ray,
Thanks for the update. That is great news. Will follow up.

Can you let me know if she is going to have any specials in July. We will be in David for about 26 days. I can get my teeth whitened while I’m over there. Thanks lots
She has the 2 x 1 special often, so there is a fair chance that she will have it or some other promotion. If you go in, tell her you read about her on Chiriqui Chatter and you would like special CC consideration.

Hi there Don,
Do you know of a holistic dentist in David or anywhere in Panama? Or a SC dentist with an open mind, to work, as close to a holistic approach as possible here.
Thanks
Hi Spring. I have no idea, but you might talk to Dr. Rodriguez and ask here. She might be able to help.

Does she do teeth implants? My front bridge fell out after 10 years. I never liked the bridge. I want implants. Probably need 4. Expected cost? Thank u
I think I remember her saying that she did, but you would have to go by the clinic and ask her. I have no idea about the price.

“Hello Don Ray, your family and all CC bloggers. Given the demand on frontal teeth composite change, there is a bonus in October:just pay 1 for 2. If the composite is older, has undergone color changes, or have plaque underneath, the client will know it by feeling certain discomfort to sweet or cold, provided there are two surfaces that involve these changes in the whole teeth jacket. Love to all. Any doubt, please e-mail me and I´ll try to answer as soon as possible.”
